Stat. § 28-709","body":"(1) Any person who, by any act, encourages, causes, or contributes to the delinquency or need for special supervision of a child under eighteen years of age, so that such child becomes, or will tend to become, a delinquent child, or a child in need of special supervision, commits contributing to the delinquency of a child.\n\n(2) The following definitions shall be applicable to this section:\n\n(a) Delinquent child shall mean any child under the age of eighteen years who has violated any law of the state or any city or village ordinance; and\n\n(b) A child in need of special supervision shall mean any child under the age of eighteen years (i) who, by reason of being wayward or habitually disobedient, is uncontrolled by his parent, guardian, or custodian; (ii) who is habitually truant from school or home; or (iii) who deports himself so as to injure or endanger seriously the morals or health of himself or others.\n\n(3) Contributing to the delinquency of a child is a Class I misdemeanor.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 28"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=28-709","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"60d738f26c3beec4709dd0c29cb59f9dee9f05d507638ae4efde48ef788a20d0","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-707","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-710"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
