Stat. § 28-918","body":"(1) A person commits bribery of a witness if he offers, confers, or agrees to confer any benefit upon a witness or a person he believes is about to be called as a witness in any official proceeding with intent to:\n\n(a) Influence him to testify falsely or unlawfully withhold any testimony; or\n\n(b) Induce him to avoid legal process summoning him to testify; or\n\n(c) Induce him to absent himself from an official proceeding to which he has been legally summoned.\n\n(2) Bribery of a witness is a Class IV felony.\n\n(3) A person who is a witness or has been called as a witness in any official proceeding commits a Class IV felony if he accepts or agrees to accept any benefit from any other person for the purposes set forth in subsection (1) of this section.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 28"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=28-918","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"7f89c0ec4f95808db578862b354403b8d098fcc668bac799d66aa3fd8a8ba8a1","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-917","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-919"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
