Stat. § 28-918","heading":"Bribery of a witness; penalty; witness receiving bribe; penalty.","body":"(1) A person commits bribery of a witness if he offers, confers, or agrees to confer any benefit upon a witness or a person he believes is about to be called as a witness in any official proceeding with intent to:\n(a) Influence him to testify falsely or unlawfully withhold any testimony; or\n(b) Induce him to avoid legal process summoning him to testify; or\n(c) Induce him to absent himself from an official proceeding to which he has been legally summoned.\n(2) Bribery of a witness is a Class IV felony.\n(3) A person who is a witness or has been called as a witness in any official proceeding commits a Class IV felony if he accepts or agrees to accept any benefit from any other person for the purposes set forth in subsection (1) of this section.","path":["Chapter 28 - CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=28-918","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-18T05:56:31Z","sha256":"9d77a6faaa3ce4335ed406bb57ff4217bddb70d0bb0554f802cfa6ed202663d8","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-917","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-919"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
