Stat. § 30-4620","body":"To the extent a powerholder releases or fails to exercise a general power of appointment other than a power to withdraw property from, revoke, or amend a trust:\n\n(1) the gift in default clause controls the disposition of the unappointed property; or\n\n(2) if there is no gift in default clause or to the extent the clause is ineffective:\n\n(A) except as otherwise provided in subdivision (B) of this subdivision, the unappointed property passes to:\n\n(i) the powerholder if the powerholder is a permissible appointee and living; or\n\n(ii) if the powerholder is an impermissible appointee or deceased, the powerholder's estate if the estate is a permissible appointee; or\n\n(B) to the extent the powerholder released the power, or if there is no taker under subdivision (A) of this subdivision, the unappointed property passes under a reversionary interest to the donor or the donor's transferee or successor in interest.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 30"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=30-4620","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"5e7425a8a88e85d10776252351c19b885a0ee336b091090303777a570e4bb6ab","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-30-4619","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-30-4621"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
