Stat. § 43-2201","body":"It is the intent of the Legislature to:\n\n(1) Promote kinship care and lifelong connections through the process of family finding when a child has been removed from the legal custody of the child's parents;\n\n(2) Prevent recurrence of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other maltreatment of children;\n\n(3) Reduce the length of time children spend in foster care;\n\n(4) Reduce multiple placements of children in foster care;\n\n(5) Remain in compliance with the federal Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008, Public Law 110-351; and\n\n(6) Create a pilot project for the process of locating and engaging family members in the life of a child who is a ward of the state or is participating in the bridge to independence program as defined in section 43-4503 , or both, and in need of permanency through a lifelong network of support.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 43"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=43-2201","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"2ce36c98485e4e32419dc187a5d393a805da6acfa1cce308bd6a8473dbff3da8","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-43-2101","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-43-2202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
