Stat. § 43-2203","body":"The department, its contracted providers of family finding services, and family members of children involved in cases which are part of the pilot project created in section 43-2204 shall participate in family finding. Family finding is the process of engagement, searching, preparation, planning, decisionmaking, lifetime network creation, healing, and permanency in order to:\n\n(1) Search for and identify family members and engage them in planning and decisionmaking;\n\n(2) Gain commitments from family members to support a child through nurturing relationships and to support the parent or parents, when appropriate; and\n\n(3) Achieve a safe, permanent legal home or lifelong connection for the child, either through reunification or through permanent placement through legal guardianship or adoption.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 43"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=43-2203","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"3f6c7c8b195cb8e83d54f639ca2af3c67ae388b258d0a3970585fa7131f0ef94","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-43-2202","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-43-2204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
