Stat. § 44-1304","body":"(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, the Health Carrier External Review Act shall apply to all health carriers.\n\n(2)(a) The act shall not apply to a policy or certificate that provides coverage for:\n\n(i) A specified disease, specified accident, or accident-only coverage;\n\n(ii) Credit;\n\n(iii) Dental;\n\n(iv) Disability income;\n\n(v) Hospital indemnity;\n\n(vi) Long-term care insurance as defined in section 44-4509 ;\n\n(vii) Vision care; or\n\n(viii) Any other limited supplemental benefit.\n\n(b) The act shall not apply to:\n\n(i) A medicare supplement policy of insurance as defined in section 44-3602 ;\n\n(ii) Coverage under a plan through medicare, medicaid, or the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program;\n\n(iii) Any coverage issued under Chapter 55 of Title 10 of the United States Code and any coverage issued as a supplement to that coverage;\n\n(iv) Any coverage issued as supplemental to liability insurance;\n\n(v) Workers' compensation or similar insurance;\n\n(vi) Automobile medical-payment insurance; or\n\n(vii) Any insurance under which benefits are payable with or without regard to fault, whether written on a group blanket or individual basis.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 44"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=44-1304","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"09caccdda857d482781d39b6412a96e4100207e20ad8b6f85987bf6f60ae6b78","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-1303","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-1305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
