Stat. § 44-5442","body":"(1) On receipt of information documenting an approved prior authorization from the enrollee or from the enrollee's health care provider, a utilization review agent shall honor the approved prior authorization granted to an enrollee from a previous utilization review agent for at least the initial sixty days of an enrollee's coverage under a new health benefit plan. During such time period, a utilization review agent may perform its own review to grant a prior authorization.\n\n(2) If there is a change in coverage of, or approval criteria for, a previously authorized health care service, the change in coverage or approval criteria does not affect a prior authorization request approved before the effective date of the change.\n\n(3) A utilization review agent shall continue to honor a prior authorization it has granted to an enrollee when the enrollee changes health insurance products under the same health insurance company without any action required by the health care provider.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 44"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=44-5442","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"0a5d1e34e374e46e584ab721465c4cb8df51c3e171a4d6726470f0912f053c7c","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-5441","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-5443"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
