Stat. § 44-6507","body":"(1) A pet insurer or insurance producer shall not market a wellness program as pet insurance.\n\n(2) If a pet insurer or insurance producer sells a wellness program:\n\n(a) The purchase of the wellness program shall not be a requirement to the purchase of pet insurance;\n\n(b) The costs of the wellness program shall be separate and identifiable from any pet insurance policy sold by a pet insurer or insurance producer;\n\n(c) The terms and conditions for the wellness program shall be separate from any pet insurance policy sold by a pet insurer or insurance producer;\n\n(d) The products or coverage available through a wellness program shall not duplicate products or coverages available through the pet insurance policy;\n\n(e) The advertising of the wellness program shall not be misleading; and\n\n(f) The pet insurer or insurance producer shall provide a written disclosure to consumers in twelve-point bold font that includes:\n\n(i) A statement that wellness programs are not insurance;\n\n(ii) The mailing address, toll-free telephone number, and website of the Department of Insurance; and\n\n(iii) The address and customer service telephone number of the pet insurer or insurance producer of record.\n\n(3) Coverages included in the pet insurance policy contract described as wellness benefits are insurance.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 44"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=44-6507","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"d51587271c745c85dd17d4a0ee85dd1e68c522a74492e2baaad92571bfaedaa7","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-6506","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-6508"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
