Stat. § 44-7609","body":"(1) A multiple employer welfare arrangement offering a health benefit plan that is not fully insured shall be a named insured under a stop-loss insurance policy that provides coverage in excess of the multiple employer welfare arrangement's retention of one hundred twenty-five percent of the multiple employer welfare arrangement's expected health claims costs as determined on an aggregate basis.\n\n(2) A policy issued to satisfy the requirements of subsection (1) of this section shall:\n\n(a) Be evidenced by a binder or policy by an insurer licensed to transact the business of insurance in this state; and\n\n(b) Contain a provision that the coverage may not be terminated by the insurer unless the multiple employer welfare arrangement and the director receive a written notice of termination from the insurer at least thirty days before the effective date of the termination.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 44"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=44-7609","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"f8fc4d599421cc652c607ae4b927ee1223496a8e2422214fdfbfe115356d7224","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-7608","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-761"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
