Stat. § 44-8602","heading":"Terms, defined.","body":"For purposes of the Insured Homeowners Protection Act:\n(1) Residential contractor means a person in the business of contracting or offering to contract with an owner or possessor of residential real estate to:\n(a) Repair or replace a roof system or perform any other exterior repair, replacement, construction, or reconstruction work on residential real estate;\n(b) Perform interior or exterior cleanup services on residential real estate;\n(c) Arrange for, manage, or process the work referred to in subdivision (1)(a) or (b) of this section; or\n(d) Serve as a representative, agent, or assignee of the owner or possessor of residential real estate;\n(2) Residential real estate means a new or existing building, including a detached garage, constructed for habitation by at least one but no more than four families; and\n(3) Roof system means and includes roof coverings, roof sheathing, roof weatherproofing, and insulation.","path":["Chapter 44 - INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=44-8602","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"4dbbffa80e683235cb52bcdfa2baa41c8d99545cf831e8f6d22fbe334e9470b9","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-8601","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-44-8603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
