Stat. § 54-640","body":"A commercial dog or cat breeder shall:\n\n(1) Maintain housing facilities and primary enclosures in a sanitary condition;\n\n(2) Enable all dogs and cats to remain dry and clean;\n\n(3) Provide shelter and protection from extreme temperatures and weather conditions that may be uncomfortable or hazardous to the dogs and cats;\n\n(4) Provide sufficient shade to shelter all the dogs and cats housed in the primary enclosure at one time;\n\n(5) Provide dogs and cats with easy and convenient access to adequate amounts of clean food and water;\n\n(6) Provide dogs with adequate socialization. For purposes of this subdivision, adequate socialization means physical contact with other dogs and with human beings, other than being fed;\n\n(7) Assure that a handler's hands are washed before and after handling each infectious or contagious cat;\n\n(8) Maintain a written veterinary care plan developed in conjunction with an attending veterinarian; and\n\n(9) Provide veterinary care without delay when necessary.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 54"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=54-640","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"a77fab884099325f363260cc6fbc6ef60309a7127080e3063b54f15a33a1a33a","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-54-639","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-54-641"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
