Stat. § 55-417","body":"There shall be general, special, and summary courts-martial constituted like similar courts of the Army and Air Force of the United States. The jurisdiction of the courts-martial shall be as follows:\n\n(1) General court-martial: Except as otherwise provided by law, a general court-martial may try any person subject to the Nebraska Code of Military Justice;\n\n(2) Special court-martial: Except as otherwise provided by law, a special court-martial may try any person subject to the code when the punishment for the offense does not include a dishonorable discharge; and\n\n(3) Summary court-martial: Except as otherwise provided by law, a summary court-martial may try any person subject to the code and it may adjudge any punishment not forbidden by the code except dishonorable discharge or bad-conduct discharge, confinement for more than one month, hard labor without confinement for more than forty-five days, or forfeiture of more than two-thirds of one month's pay.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 55"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=55-417","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"1c9142c09bebc1ae83657aba54a37b7968efde72528c2fcb3ba842839ce26cfb","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-55-416","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-55-418"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
