Stat. § 55-701","body":"For purposes of sections 55-701 to 55-704 :\n\n(1) Military service means:\n\n(a) In the case of a servicemember who is a member or reserve member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, full-time duty in the active military service of the United States, including:\n\n(i) Full-time training duty;\n\n(ii) Annual training duty; and\n\n(iii) Attendance while at a school designated as a service school by federal law or by the secretary of the military department concerned;\n\n(b) In the case of a member or reserve member of the Nebraska National Guard, service under a call to active service or duty authorized by:\n\n(i) The President of the United States or the Secretary of Defense for a period of more than thirty days in response to a national emergency declared by the President of the United States; or\n\n(ii) The Governor for a period of more than thirty consecutive days;\n\n(c) In the case of a servicemember who is a commissioned officer of the United States Public Health Service or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, active service; or\n\n(d) Any period during which a servicemember is absent from duty on account of sickness, wounds, leave, or other lawful cause; and\n\n(2) Servicemember means an individual engaged in military service.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 55"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=55-701","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"f459f11e09020e9bde746ecf76f21f423140528f990c3ed5304b93e121c3f0e7","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-55-606","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-55-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
