Stat. § 60-3203","body":"(1) Except as otherwise provided in this section or in section 60-3204 , the use of an automatic license plate reader system by a governmental entity is prohibited.\n\n(2) An automatic license plate reader system may be used when such use is:\n\n(a) By a law enforcement agency of a governmental entity for the purpose of identifying:\n\n(i) Outstanding parking or traffic violations;\n\n(ii) An unregistered or uninsured vehicle;\n\n(iii) A vehicle in violation of the vehicle equipment requirements set forth under the Nebraska Rules of the Road;\n\n(iv) A vehicle in violation of any other vehicle registration requirement;\n\n(v) A vehicle registered to an individual for whom there is an outstanding warrant;\n\n(vi) A vehicle associated with a missing person;\n\n(vii) A vehicle that has been reported as stolen; or\n\n(viii) A vehicle that is relevant and material to an ongoing criminal investigation;\n\n(b) By a parking enforcement entity for regulating the use of a parking facility;\n\n(c) For the purpose of controlling access to a secured area;\n\n(d) For the purpose of electronic toll collection; or\n\n(e) To assist weighing stations in performing their duties under section 60-1301 .","path":["NE Code","Chapter 60"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=60-3203","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"662f4545c5f918dec6ea91ff16431b378da306e5424cd219cec5e7dd7223ff3c","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-60-3202","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-60-3204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
