Stat. § 66-1102","heading":"Terms, defined.","body":"As used in sections 66-1101 to 66-1106, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) Geothermal resources shall mean (a) the natural heat of the earth and the energy produced by that heat, including pressure, and (b) the material medium containing that energy;\n(2) Geothermal fluids shall mean the naturally present ground water in geothermal occurrences;\n(3) Geothermal occurrence shall mean an underground geologic formation at temperatures higher than the normal gradient; and\n(4) Material medium shall mean geothermal fluids or other substances injected into a geothermal occurrence by which geothermal energy is transported to the surface.","path":["Chapter 66 - OILS, FUELS, AND ENERGY"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=66-1102","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-10-18T06:02:52Z","sha256":"fcb4b0c811a32d838806ba9e385ecb23128dd8f2c5f4f77c68008f51a5fde756","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-66-1101","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-66-1103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
