Stat. § 68-1503","body":"For purposes of the Disabled Persons and Family Support Act:\n\n(1) Department means the Department of Health and Human Services;\n\n(2) Disabled family member or disabled person means a person who has a medically determinable severe, chronic disability which:\n\n(a) Is attributable to a mental or physical impairment or combination of mental and physical impairments;\n\n(b) Is likely to continue indefinitely;\n\n(c) Results in substantial functional limitations in two or more of the following areas of major life activity: (i) Self-care, (ii) receptive and expressive language, (iii) learning, (iv) mobility, (v) self-direction, (vi) capacity for independent living, (vii) work skills or work tolerance, and (viii) economic sufficiency; and\n\n(d) Reflects the person's need for a combination and sequence of special, interdisciplinary, or generic care, treatment, vocational rehabilitation, or other services which are of lifelong or extended duration and are individually planned and coordinated; and\n\n(3) Other support programs means all forms of local, state, or federal assistance, grants-in-aid, educational programs, or support provided by public or private funds for disabled persons or their families.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 68"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=68-1503","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"afeb2a7591c0641fdd8601beff5336de9dd2e738f6d5157390dd6f2c0fe65729","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-68-1502","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-68-1504"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
