Stat. § 69-2403","body":"(1) Except as provided in this section, a person shall not:\n\n(a) Purchase, lease, rent, or receive transfer of a handgun until he or she has obtained a certificate in accordance with section 69-2404 ; or\n\n(b) Sell, lease, rent, or transfer a handgun to a person who has not obtained a certificate.\n\n(2) The certificate shall not be required if:\n\n(a) The person acquiring the handgun is a licensed firearms dealer under federal law;\n\n(b) The handgun is an antique handgun;\n\n(c) The person acquiring the handgun is authorized to do so on behalf of a law enforcement agency;\n\n(d) The transfer is a temporary transfer of a handgun and the transferee remains (i) in the line of sight of the transferor or (ii) within the premises of an established shooting facility;\n\n(e) The transfer is between a person and his or her spouse, sibling, parent, child, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or grandparent;\n\n(f) The person acquiring the handgun is a holder of a valid permit under the Concealed Handgun Permit Act; or\n\n(g) The person acquiring the handgun is a peace officer as defined in section 69-2429 .","path":["NE Code","Chapter 69"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=69-2403","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"5aed3fcc500ea0de4b365628d1795d9c4043f264807d9aebc3da98ee5d35f9a2","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-69-2402","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-69-2404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
