Stat. § 71-4736","body":"For purposes of the Infant Hearing Act:\n\n(1) Birth admission means the time after birth that the newborn remains in the hospital or other health care facility prior to discharge;\n\n(2) Birthing facility means a hospital or other health care facility in this state which provides birthing and newborn care services;\n\n(3) Confirmatory testing facility means a hospital or other health care facility in this state which provides followup hearing tests;\n\n(4) Infant means a child from thirty days through twelve months old;\n\n(5) Newborn means a child from birth through twenty-nine days old; and\n\n(6) Parent means a natural parent, stepparent, adoptive parent, legal guardian, or other legal custodian of a child.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 71"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=71-4736","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"2f22a8edeb29e748c3515f4a50a291a150275f74e547c3ac43a19d0eefb4dfae","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-4735","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-4737"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
