Stat. § 71-5662","body":"(1) To be eligible for a student loan under the Rural Health Systems and Professional Incentive Act, an applicant or a recipient shall be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in any of the following accredited programs in Nebraska:\n\n(a) Medical or dental education program;\n\n(b) Physician assistant education program;\n\n(c) Nurse anesthesia practice program;\n\n(d) Dietitian nutritionist program; or\n\n(e) Approved mental health practice program in Nebraska.\n\n(2) To be eligible for the medical resident incentive under the act, an applicant or a recipient shall be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an approved medical specialty residency program in Nebraska.\n\n(3) To be eligible for loan repayment under the act, an applicant or a recipient shall:\n\n(a) Be one of the following:\n\n(i) A pharmacist;\n\n(ii) A dentist;\n\n(iii) A physical therapist;\n\n(iv) An occupational therapist;\n\n(v) A mental health practitioner;\n\n(vi) A psychologist licensed under the requirements of section 38-3114 or the equivalent thereof;\n\n(vii) A nurse practitioner;\n\n(viii) A nurse anesthetist;\n\n(ix) A physician assistant;\n\n(x) A dietitian nutritionist licensed under section 38-1813 ;\n\n(xi) A psychiatrist; or\n\n(xii) A physician in an approved specialty;\n\n(b) Be licensed to practice in Nebraska;\n\n(c) Not be enrolled in a residency program;\n\n(d) Not be practicing under a provisional or temporary license; and\n\n(e) Enter practice in a designated health profession shortage area in Nebraska.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 71"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=71-5662","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"9b009a44c606b1485ace727844f7f7914342e87cfaf31f56b1756e02d5e14161","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-5661","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-5663"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
