Stat. § 71-568","heading":"Dementia services coordinator; appointment; duties.","body":"The department shall appoint a dementia services coordinator who shall:\n(1) Serve as a referral point for linking families caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia with supportive services and resources;\n(2) Provide information, counseling, education, and referral about services and programs, including safe, secure environments that support individuals and families dealing with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia;\n(3) Collect and monitor data related to the impact of Alzheimer's disease and other dementia on residents of this state;\n(4) Evaluate the needs of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia and their caregivers and identify the services, resources, and policies required to address such needs;\n(5) Recommend strategies for coordination of services and resources among agencies involved in the delivery of services to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia;\n(6) Monitor and assist development and implementation of the state plan for meeting the needs of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia and their caregivers;\n(7) Recommend policies, legislation, and funding necessary to implement the state plan for meeting the needs of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia and their caregivers;\n(8) Increase awareness and create dementia-specific training to facilitate access to quality coordinated care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia in the most integrated setting; and\n(9) Organize community stakeholders and resources to identify proactive and effective solutions.","path":["Chapter 71 - PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=71-568","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"2d2d0cb9fd8ea14c4f6f154068a43ac6ac5f0ff2d4837e81b0704a385f6eb28e","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-567","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-569"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
