Stat. § 71-6915","body":"(1) Except as provided in subsection (3) of this section, a physician, before performing or inducing an abortion, shall first:\n\n(a) Determine, using standard medical practice, the gestational age of the preborn child; and\n\n(b) Record in the pregnant woman's medical record:\n\n(i) The method used to determine the gestational age of the preborn child; and\n\n(ii) The date, time, and results of such determination.\n\n(2) Except as provided in subsection (3) of this section, it shall be unlawful for any physician to perform or induce an abortion:\n\n(a) Before fulfilling the requirements of subsection (1) of this section; or\n\n(b) If the probable gestational age of the preborn child has been determined to be twelve or more weeks.\n\n(3) It shall not be a violation of subsection (1) or (2) of this section for a physician to perform or induce an abortion in the case of:\n\n(a) Medical emergency;\n\n(b) Pregnancy resulting from sexual assault as defined in section 28-319 or 28-319.01 ; or\n\n(c) Pregnancy resulting from incest as defined in section 28-703 .","path":["NE Code","Chapter 71"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=71-6915","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"5eae7e967a82614780726852edf86aadcd8a9651148a08f5af2aa02ce9678ee9","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-6914","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-6916"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
