Stat. § 71-8402","body":"For purposes of sections 71-8401 to 71-8407 :\n\n(1) Medical records means a provider's record of a patient's health history and treatment rendered;\n\n(2) Mental health medical records means medical records or parts thereof created by or under the direction or supervision of a licensed psychiatrist, a licensed psychologist, a mental health practitioner licensed or certified pursuant to the Mental Health Practice Act, or a professional counselor who holds a privilege to practice in Nebraska as a professional counselor under the Licensed Professional Counselors Interstate Compact;\n\n(3) Patient includes a patient or former patient;\n\n(4) Patient request or request of a patient includes the request of a patient's guardian or other authorized representative; and\n\n(5) Provider means a physician, psychologist, chiropractor, dentist, hospital, clinic, and any other licensed or certified health care practitioner or entity.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 71"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=71-8402","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"af2bafa0b316dc91b528d397c5d59ff1ccad04e20f8d7d97ae156023f79b6174","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-8401","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-71-8403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
