Stat. § 79-2,140","heading":"Terms, defined.","body":"For purposes of the Lindsay Ann Burke Act, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) Dating partner means any person, regardless of gender, involved in an intimate relationship with another person primarily characterized by the expectation of affectionate involvement whether casual, serious, or long-term;\n(2) Dating violence means a pattern of behavior where one person uses threats of, or actually uses, physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional abuse, to control his or her dating partner;\n(3) Department means the State Department of Education; and\n(4) School district has the same meaning as in section 79-101.","path":["Chapter 79 - SCHOOLS"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=79-2,140","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"9c862a76de9d7aec2e7d9673e6ab31660de6bcec3703a274a4c5a56cf6d544a7","source_id":"us-ne","stale":true,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-79-2-139","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-79-2-141"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
