Stat. § 8-2603.01","body":"(1) A consumer reporting agency shall place a security freeze for a protected consumer if:\n\n(a) The consumer reporting agency receives a request from the representative for the placement of the security freeze under this section; and\n\n(b) The representative:\n\n(i) Submits the request to the consumer reporting agency at the address or other point of contact and in the manner specified by the consumer reporting agency; and\n\n(ii) Provides to the consumer reporting agency:\n\n(A) Sufficient proof of identification of the protected consumer and the representative; and\n\n(B) Sufficient proof of authority to act on behalf of the protected consumer.\n\n(2) If a consumer reporting agency does not have a file pertaining to a protected consumer when the consumer reporting agency receives a request described in subdivision (1)(a) of this section, the consumer reporting agency shall create a record for the protected consumer.\n\n(3) Within thirty days after receiving a request that meets the requirements of this section, a consumer reporting agency shall place a security freeze for the protected consumer.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 8"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=8-2603.01","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"fc8268574161a1d484ce8836ba3ae21d57df81372c0338ffcc58125ec0554ccb","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-8-2603","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-8-2604"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
