Stat. § 8-3213","body":"(a) Unless otherwise provided in the account agreement, a special deposit terminates five years after the date the special deposit was first funded.\n\n(b) Unless otherwise provided in the account agreement, if the financial institution cannot identify or locate a beneficiary entitled to payment when the special deposit is terminated, and a balance remains in the special deposit, the financial institution shall pay the balance to the depositor or depositors as a beneficiary or beneficiaries.\n\n(c) A financial institution that pays the remaining balance as provided under subsection (b) has no further obligation with respect to the special deposit.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 8"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=8-3213","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"08d6f5c108862b3ca333037031f956c94eb6fcb223e92c1e9dff086b78f88a06","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-8-3212","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-8-3214"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
