Stat. § 81-1819","heading":"Payment of compensation; order; losses covered.","body":"The committee or hearing officer may order the payment of compensation to victims of crime and survivors of victims of crime for:\n(1) Expenses actually and reasonably incurred as a result of the personal injury or death of the victim, including expenses for mental health counseling and care;\n(2) Loss of wages and future earning capacity as a result of total or partial incapacity of the victim and reasonable expenses of job retraining or similar employment-oriented rehabilitative services for the victim;\n(3) Pecuniary loss to the dependents of the deceased victim;\n(4) Funeral and burial expenses actually and reasonably incurred as a result of the death of the victim; and\n(5) Any other loss resulting from the personal injury or death of the victim which the committee determines to be reasonable.","path":["Chapter 81 - STATE ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=81-1819","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"ee564b136a4d8234237a2088730d476d1f69b0f1ef532dcb82d517b77ad10c95","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-1818","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-1820"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
