Stat. § 81-1846","heading":"Victim and witness assistance centers; purposes.","body":"The centers shall be designed to:\n(1) Assist criminal justice agencies in giving more consideration and personal attention to victims and witnesses through the delivery of services to victims and witnesses of crimes;\n(2) Provide a model for other community-based efforts to aid victims and witnesses;\n(3) Sensitize law enforcement officials, communications technicians, and supervisors to the needs of victims of crime and encourage a concerned approach to such victims;\n(4) Attempt to decrease the incidence of unreported crimes; and\n(5) Assure that victims and witnesses are informed of the progress of the case in which they are involved.","path":["Chapter 81 - STATE ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=81-1846","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"ec671eea84cae88756b46495a4506039d40d5251b8f7fb1c3bc6fc03d0dabe36","source_id":"us-ne","stale":true,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-1845","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-1847"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
