Stat. § 81-2504","heading":"Commission; functions.","body":"The functions of the commission shall be to:\n(1) Promote state and federal legislation beneficial to the Indian community in Nebraska;\n(2) Coordinate existing programs relating to the Indian community in such areas as housing, education, welfare, medical and dental care, employment, economic development, law and order, and related problems;\n(3) Work with other state and federal government agencies and federal and state elected officials in the development of new programs in areas mentioned under subdivision (2) of this section;\n(4) Keep the Governor's office apprised of the situation in the Indian community;\n(5) Provide the public with information and education relevant to Indian affairs in the State of Nebraska; and\n(6) Develop programs to encourage the total involvement of Indian people in activities for the common benefit of the Indian community.","path":["Chapter 81 - STATE ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=81-2504","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"a0deaaa625c12c5bb177b0447884e3ac1249dc740f6c29437062d3dea7553535","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-2503","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-2505"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
