Stat. § 81-2705","heading":"Employee protections.","body":"Any person who has authority to recommend, approve, direct, or otherwise take or affect personnel action shall not, with respect to such authority:\n(1) Take personnel action against an employee because of the disclosure of information by the employee to the Public Counsel or an official which the employee reasonably believes evidences wrongdoing;\n(2) Take personnel action against an employee as a reprisal for the submission of an allegation of wrongdoing or a violation of this section to the Public Counsel or official by such employee; or\n(3) Take personnel action against an employee as a reprisal for providing information or testimony, pursuant to an investigation or hearing held under the State Government Effectiveness Act, to the Public Counsel, an official, the State Personnel Board, a corresponding personnel appeals board, or the director or chief operating officer of an agency.","path":["Chapter 81 - STATE ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=81-2705","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:11Z","sha256":"f9c38fcf6f98bb058497a3e0d02ed7bbce74867493241eb121ea2572918f6ed8","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-2704","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-81-2706"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
