U.C.C. § 9-201","heading":"General effectiveness of security agreement.","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in the Uniform Commercial Code, a security agreement is effective according to its terms between the parties, against purchasers of the collateral, and against creditors.\n(b) A transaction subject to this article is subject to any applicable rule of law which establishes a different rule for consumers and any other statute or regulation governing usury, small loans, retail installment sales, or the like.\n(c) In case of conflict between this article and a rule of law, statute, or regulation described in subsection (b), the rule of law, statute, or regulation controls. Failure to comply with a statute or regulation described in subsection (b) has only the effect the statute or regulation specifies.\n(d) This article does not:\n(1) validate any rate, charge, agreement, or practice that violates a rule of law, statute, or regulation described in subsection (b); or\n(2) extend the application of the rule of law, statute, or regulation to a transaction not otherwise subject to it.","path":["Uniform Commercial Code","Article 9"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/ucc.php?code=9-201","current_through":"Laws 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T21:01:12Z","sha256":"bfc880c3e166a172c2a2392d21a355bdcc379cb273ae71d56bc0a2ade473343f","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-u.c.c.-9-110","next":"us-ne/neb.-u.c.c.-9-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
