A postsecondary educational institution or independent school accredited to operate in this state may develop a policy in accordance with this chapter and guidelines issued under RSA 200-N:4 for the emergency administration of epinephrine to a member of the campus community for anaphylaxis when a licensed campus medical professional is not available.\nII. Such policy shall include:\n(a) Permission for a trained designee to do the following:\n(1) Administer epinephrine to a member of the campus community for anaphylaxis when a licensed campus medical professional is unavailable.\n(2) When responsible for the safety of at least one member of the campus community, carry in a secure but accessible location a supply of epinephrine that is prescribed under a standing protocol from a health care provider who is licensed in New Hampshire and whose scope of practice includes the prescribing of medication.\n(b) Provisions that a licensed campus medical professional has responsibility for training designees in the following:\n(1) The administration of epinephrine.\n(2) Identification of an anaphylactic reaction and indications for when to use epinephrine.\nIII. Each postsecondary educational institution and independent school that develops a policy under this chapter shall designate a licensed campus medical professional.\nIV. A licensed campus medical professional may:\n(a) Establish and administer a standardized training protocol for the emergency administration of epinephrine by trained designees.\n(b) Ensure that trained designees have satisfactorily completed the training protocol.\n(c) Obtain a supply of epinephrine under a standing protocol from a physician licensed under RSA 329, physician assistant licensed under RSA 328-D, or advanced practice registered nurse licensed under RSA 326-B.\n(d) Control distribution to trained designees of epinephrine.","path":["Title XV: EDUCATION","Chapter 200-N: EPINEPHRINE ADMINISTRATION IN POSTSECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS"],"source_url":"https://gc.nh.gov/rsa/html/XV/200-N/200-N-2.htm","current_through":"2025 regular legislative session, or December 2025","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T14:11:35Z","sha256":"3422ab9decc87ce8020dad9771632d616fc956b8d8dcfa4b4c67824f0b7295e1","source_id":"us-nh","stale":false,"prev":"us-nh/rsa-200-n-1","next":"us-nh/rsa-200-n-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
