(a) The department shall charge a fee of $10 for issuing a safe boater education certificate.\n(b) The fee for a temporary certificate shall be $10.\nII. (a) The department may charge a fee for offering a safe boater education course or exam. The fee shall not exceed the costs incurred by the department in offering the course or exam.\n(b) Agents of the department may charge a fee for offering a safe boater education course or exam. The commissioner shall establish by rule the maximum fees that may be charged by agents.\nIII. The total of all fees that a person may be required to pay under this section shall not exceed $50.\nIV.
