A person shall not act or hold himself or herself out as a public adjuster in this state unless the person is licensed as a public adjuster in accordance with this chapter.\nII. A person licensed as a public adjuster shall not represent or act as an adjuster licensed pursuant to RSA 402-B and representing an insurer in any capacity, including acting as an employee of the insurer or as an insurance claims adjuster.\nIII. A license as a public adjuster shall not be required of the following:\n(a) An attorney-at-law admitted to practice in this state, when acting in his or her professional capacity as an attorney;\n(b) A person employed only for the purpose of obtaining facts surrounding a loss or furnishing technical assistance to a licensed public adjuster, including photographers, estimators, private investigators, engineers, and handwriting experts;\n(c) A licensed health care provider, or employee of a licensed health care provider, who prepares or files a health claim form on behalf of a patient; or\n(d) A person who settles subrogation claims between insurers.","path":["Title XXXVII: INSURANCE","Chapter 402-D: PUBLIC ADJUSTERS"],"source_url":"https://gc.nh.gov/rsa/html/XXXVII/402-D/402-D-3.htm","current_through":"2025 regular legislative session, or December 2025","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T15:55:32Z","sha256":"1f6842c04eb4a8dc744b97cef8d447be0848109ecde40854c1c83da5618e4bed","source_id":"us-nh","stale":false,"prev":"us-nh/rsa-402-d-2","next":"us-nh/rsa-402-d-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
