Within 30 days of receiving the petition, or 30 days after the next scheduled meeting of a board, commission, or group reviewing the petition, the agency shall determine whether to grant or deny the petition. If the agency decides to deny the petition, the agency shall notify the petitioner of the decision in writing and shall state the reasons for denial.
