{"data":{"id":"us-nh/rsa-546-b-53","jurisdiction":"us-nh","citation":"RSA 546-B:53","heading":"Definitions.","body":"In this article:\nI. \"Application\" means a request under the Convention by an obligee or obligor, or on behalf of a child, made through a central authority for assistance from another central authority.\nII. \"Central authority\" means the entity designated by the United States or a foreign country described in RSA 546-B:1, V(d) to perform the functions specified in the Convention.\nIII. \"Convention support order\" means a support order of a tribunal of a foreign country described in RSA 546-B:1, V(d).\nIV. \"Direct request\" means a petition filed by an individual in a tribunal of this state in a proceeding involving an obligee, obligor, or child residing outside the United States.\nV. \"Foreign central authority\" means the entity designated by a foreign country described in RSA 546-B:1, V(d) to perform the functions specified in the Convention.\nVI. \"Foreign support agreement\":\n(a) Means an agreement for support in a record that:\n(1) Is enforceable as a support order in the country of origin;\n(2) Has been:\n(A) Formally drawn up or registered as an authentic instrument by a foreign tribunal; or\n(B) Authenticated by, or concluded, registered, or filed with a foreign tribunal; and\n(3) May be reviewed and modified by a foreign tribunal; and\n(b) Includes a maintenance arrangement or authentic instrument under the Convention.\nVII. \"United States central authority\" means the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.","path":["Title LV: PROCEEDINGS IN SPECIAL CASES","Chapter ARTICLE 7: SUPPORT PROCEEDINGS UNDER CONVENTION"],"source_url":"https://gc.nh.gov/rsa/html/LV/546-B/546-B-53.htm","current_through":"2025 regular legislative session, or December 2025","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T17:01:43Z","sha256":"8c96d2c61f5919ee707fc42f1cdb8208f43db493bb66682004a8ddf3919ae86a","source_id":"us-nh","stale":false,"prev":"us-nh/rsa-546-b-52-b","next":"us-nh/rsa-546-b-53-a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
