Stat. § 12A:7-105","heading":"Reissuance in alternative medium.","body":"Reissuance in Alternative Medium.\na.\tUpon request of a person entitled under an electronic document of title, the issuer of the electronic document may issue a tangible document of title as a substitute for the electronic document if:\n(1)\tthe person entitled under the electronic document surrenders control of the document to the issuer; and\n(2)\tthe tangible document when issued contains a statement that it is issued in substitution for the electronic document.\nb.\tUpon issuance of a tangible document of title in substitution for an electronic document of title in accordance with subsection a. of this section:\n(1)\tthe electronic document ceases to have any effect or validity; and\n(2)\tthe person that procured issuance of the tangible document warrants to all subsequent persons entitled under the tangible document that the warrantor was a person entitled under the electronic document when the warrantor surrendered control of the electronic document to the issuer.\nc.\tUpon request of a person entitled under a tangible document of title, the issuer of the tangible document may issue an electronic document of title as a substitute for the tangible document if:\n(1)\tthe person entitled under the tangible document surrenders possession of the document to the issuer; and\n(2)\tthe electronic document when issued contains a statement that it is issued in substitution for the tangible document.\nd.\tUpon issuance of an electronic document of title in substitution for a tangible document of title in accordance with subsection c. of this section:\n(1)\tthe tangible document ceases to have any effect or validity; and\n(2)\tthe person that procured issuance of the electronic document warrants to all subsequent persons entitled under the electronic document that the warrantor was a person entitled under the tangible document when the warrantor surrendered possession of the tangible document to the issuer.\nL.2013, c.65, s.2.","path":["TITLE 12A COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"7ad2d9db4be3a7c36ca2c19bf034e9240c7aa4bfb0a668a01c332cb6d44354f0","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-12a-7-104","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-12a-7-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
