Stat. § 12A:9-526","heading":"Filing-office rules.","body":"Filing-Office Rules.\n(a)\tAdoption of filing-office rules.  The Division of Commercial Recording or other office designated by Executive Order shall adopt and publish rules to implement this chapter. The filing-office rules  must be:\n(1)\tconsistent with this chapter; and\n(2)\tadopted and published in accordance with the \"Administrative Procedure Act,\" P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.).\n(b)\tHarmonization of rules.  To keep the filing-office rules and practices of the filing office in harmony with the rules and practices of filing offices in other jurisdictions that enact substantially this part, and to keep the technology used by the filing office compatible with the technology used by filing offices in other jurisdictions that enact substantially this part, the Division of Commercial Recording, so far as is consistent with the purposes, policies, and provisions of this chapter, in adopting, amending, and repealing filing-office rules, shall:\n(1)\tconsult with filing offices in other jurisdictions that enact substantially this part; and\n(2)\tconsult the most recent version of the Model Rules promulgated by the International Association of Corporate Administrators or any successor organization; and\n(3)\ttake into consideration the rules and practices of, and the technology used by, filing offices in other jurisdictions that enact substantially this part.\nL.2001, c.117, s.1; amended 2001, c.386, s.90.","path":["TITLE 12A COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"ce3044f3e98a82f75c94b6c3c37b1aebc397631d7e3153a2175181601a4f1f37","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-12a-9-525","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-12a-9-601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
