Each surplus lines agent shall keep in his office a full and true record of each surplus lines contract procured by him, including a copy of the daily report, if any, and showing such of the following items as may be applicable:\n(a)\tAmount of the insurance and perils insured against;\n(b)\tBrief general description of property insured and where located;\n(c)\tGross premium charged;\n(d)\tReturn premium paid, if any;\n(e)\tRate of premium charged upon the several items of property;\n(f)\tEffective date of the contract, and the terms thereof;\n(g)\tName and post-office address of the insured;\n(h)\tName and home office address of the insurer;\n(i)\tAmount collected from the insured; and\n(j)\tOther information as may be required by the commissioner.\nThe record shall at all times be open to examination by the commissioner without notice, and shall be so kept available and open to the commissioner for five years next following expiration or cancellation of the contract.\nL.1960,c.32,s.23; amended 1996, c.69, s.6; 2001, c.210, s.24.","path":["TITLE 17 CORPORATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS FOR FINANCE \t\t\tAND INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"cde7d7a8cf5e65a1a0125e18483c122d54b991e23d9dfde0ddc908cec82d0652","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17-22-6.55a","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17-22-6.58"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
