Stat. § 17:22A-54","heading":"Availability of information to consumers.","body":"6.\tAt every location at which portable electronics insurance is offered to consumers, the limited lines insurance producer licensed to sell that insurance shall make available to prospective consumers brochures or other written materials which:\na.\tdisclose that portable electronics insurance may provide a duplication of coverage already provided by a consumer's homeowner's insurance policy, renter's insurance policy or other source of coverage;\nb.\tstate that enrollment by the consumer in a portable electronics insurance program is not required in order to purchase or lease portable electronics or services;\nc.\tsummarize the material terms of the insurance coverage, including:\n(1)\tthe identity of the insurer;\n(2)\tthe identity of the supervising entity;\n(3)\tthe amount of any applicable deductible and how it is to be paid;\n(4)\tbenefits of the coverage; and\n(5)\tkey terms and conditions of coverage, such as whether portable electronics may be repaired or replaced with similar make and model reconditioned or non-original manufacturer parts or equipment;\nd.\tsummarize the process for filing a claim, including a description of how to return portable electronics and the maximum fee applicable in the event that the enrolled consumer fails to comply with any equipment return requirements; and\ne.\tstate that an enrolled consumer may cancel enrollment for coverage under a portable electronics insurance policy at any time and the person paying the premium shall receive a refund or credit of any applicable unearned premium.\nL.2012, c.56, s.6.","path":["TITLE 17 CORPORATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS FOR FINANCE \t\t\tAND INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"fb1d125ab8ff0ae09744f6ba3b5f0b091f3ab8962f10ed13b9dcff8cec12dca2","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17-22a-53","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17-22a-55"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
