Stat. § 17:29C-1.1","heading":"Definitions relative to senior citizen insureds.","body":"1.\tFor purposes of this act:\n\"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance.\n\"Insurer\" means:\na.\tAny corporation, association, partnership, reciprocal exchange, interinsurer, Lloyd's insurer, fraternal benefit society or other person engaged in the business of insurance pursuant to Subtitle 3 of Title 17 of the Revised Statutes or Subtitle 3 of Title 17B of the New Jersey Statutes;\nb.\tAny medical service corporation operating pursuant to P.L.1940, c.74 (C.17:48A-1 et seq.);\nc.\tAny hospital service corporation operating pursuant to P.L.1938, c.366 (C.17:48-1 et seq.);\nd.\tAny health service corporation operating pursuant to P.L.1985, c.236 (C.17:48E-1 et seq.);\ne.\tAny health maintenance organization established pursuant to the provisions of P.L.1973, c.337 (C.26:2J-1 et seq.);\nf.\tAny insurance plan operating pursuant to P.L.1970, c.215 (C.17:29D-1); and\ng.\tThe New Jersey Insurance Underwriting Association operating pursuant to P.L.1968, c.129 (C.17:37A-1 et seq.).\n\"Policy of personal lines insurance\" means any policy or contract of insurance issued or issued for delivery in this State for personal, family or household purposes, as determined by the commissioner, by an insurer on a risk located or resident in this State for which the premiums are paid directly to the insurer by the senior citizen insured.\n\"Senior citizen insured\" means any named insured pursuant to a policy of personal lines insurance who is an individual and is at least 62 years of age.\nL.1999,c.242,s.1.","path":["TITLE 17 CORPORATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS FOR FINANCE \t\t\tAND INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"658f4e26894b88b71ec645df899fbdb7a2e735fab7da4e065ffd5a94e4d34173","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17-29c-1","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17-29c-1.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
