The commissioner may approve an application for certification as a third party billing service if he finds that the applicant meets the standards established by this act, including, but not limited to, the following:\na.\tall of the material required by this act or by the commissioner have been filed;\nb.\tthe persons responsible for conducting the applicant's affairs are competent, trustworthy and possess good reputations, and have appropriate experience, training and education;\nc.\tthe applicant has demonstrated the ability to ensure that its services will be performed in a manner which will result in the efficient operation of its business, including, if the applicant accepts payments from benefits payers on behalf of its clients, appropriate financial controls;\nd.\tthe standard contract forms to be used by the applicant are acceptable; and\ne.\tthe applicant has adequate arrangements for complying with the provisions of P.L.1999, c.154 (C.17B:30-23 et al.).\nL.2001,c.267,s.18.","path":["TITLE 17B INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"48d377fa29b1c8ee0d5947fb4adfd5b10cfcf4433c96d18622a0f8a7a91e6568","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-27b-17","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-27b-19"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
