The commissioner may suspend or revoke a certification issued pursuant to this act if he finds that the third party billing service:\na.\tis using methods or practices in the conduct of its business that render its further transaction of business in this State hazardous or injurious to its clients or the public;\nb.\thas failed to pay any judgment rendered against it within 60 days after the judgment has become final;\nc.\thas violated any lawful rule or order of the commissioner or any provision of the laws of this State;\nd.\thas, without just cause, refused or failed to perform services arising under its contracts with clients;\ne.\thas been convicted of, or has entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere to a felony or crime of the first, second or third degree in this State, without regard to whether adjudication was held; or\nf.\tis under suspension or revocation in another State.\nIf the commissioner finds that one or more grounds exist for the suspension or revocation of a certification issued under this act, the commissioner may, in lieu of suspension or revocation, impose a fine upon the third party billing service.\nL.2001,c.267,s.23.","path":["TITLE 17B INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"598dd047388bc067a5ce8d8df2ca61e6811b577664688b591accf6c6a65f630b","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-27b-22","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-27b-24"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
