There is established the \"New Jersey Hospital Care Payment Fund\" in the Department of the Treasury.\nb.\tThe fund shall be comprised of monies collected from debtors of hospitals pursuant to this act, and any other monies appropriated thereto to carry out the purposes of this act.\nc.\tThe fund shall be a nonlapsing fund, from which costs shall be paid in the following order, for each hospital participating:\n(1)\tadministrative costs of the department to implement the provisions of P.L.2003, c.112 (C.17B:30-41 et seq.);\n(2)\tadministrative fees to the collection agency;\n(3)\t50% of the remainder, but only from monies collected from debtors of hospitals pursuant to this act after paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection are paid, shall be payable to the hospital from which the debt originated within 90 days of receipt of monies related to discharge of the assigned debt into the fund; and\n(4)\tthe remainder, after paragraphs (1), (2) and (3) of this subsection are paid, shall be deposited into the General Fund.\nL.2003, c.112, s.4; amended 2010, c.87, s.6.","path":["TITLE 17B INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"46a9d89a89c6de4e79d046893e93a70620e5d122a046badd53174cde24b9db43","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-30-42","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-30-45"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
