This act shall be known and may be cited as the \"Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact.\"\nb.\tThe Legislature finds and declares that the purposes of this act, through means of joint and cooperative action among the compacting states, are to:\n(1)\tpromote and protect the interests of consumers of individual and group annuity, life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance products;\n(2)\tdevelop uniform standards for insurance products covered under this act;\n(3)\testablish a central clearinghouse to receive and provide prompt review of insurance products covered under the compact and, in certain cases, advertisements related thereto, submitted by insurers authorized to do business in one or more compacting states;\n(4)\tgive appropriate regulatory approval to those product filings and advertisements satisfying the applicable uniform standard;\n(5)\timprove coordination of regulatory resources and expertise between state insurance departments regarding the setting of uniform standards and the review of insurance products covered under the compact;\n(6)\tcreate the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission; and\n(7)\tperform these and any other related functions as may be consistent with the State's regulation of the business of insurance.\nL.2010, c.120, s.1.","path":["TITLE 17B INSURANCE"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"d4825609a8d64f5dc4bf32672940c434aba87a89227fe7fac3e1acae6657dd09","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-36-4","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-17b-37-2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
