Stat. § 18A:20-34","heading":"Schoolhouse, rooms; permitted usage","body":"The board of education of any district may, pursuant to rules adopted by it, permit the use of any schoolhouse and rooms therein, and the grounds and other property of the district, when not in use for school purposes, for any of the following purposes:\na.\tThe assembly of persons for the purpose of giving and receiving instruction in any branch of education, learning, or the arts, including the science of agriculture, horticulture, and floriculture;\nb.\tPublic library purposes or stations of public libraries;\nc.\tThe holding of such social, civic, and recreational meetings and entertainments and such other purposes as may be approved by the board;\nd.\tSuch meetings, entertainments, and occasions where admission fees are charged as may be approved by the board;\ne.\tPolling places, holding elections, registration of voters, and holding political meetings;\nf.\tChild care services provided by the board of education, or a board approved sponsor,  or a child care program licensed pursuant to  P.L.1983, c.492 (C.30:5B-1 et seq.), before or after regular school hours, for any school aged child who attends school within the school district.\nL.1967, c.271; amended 1999,c.83.s.1.","path":["TITLE 18A EDUCATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"bc61f7c5a0ded51b8ed5eb1e34b9cf12388d808477bc5578d257435cafbefc5a","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-20-33","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-20-34.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
