Stat. § 18A:20-6","heading":"Public sale; advertisement; exceptions.","body":"Any lands or rights or interests therein sold by any board of education, except lands conveyed as part of a lease purchase agreement pursuant to N.J.S. 18A:20-4.2(f), shall be sold, after advertisement of public sale, to the highest bidder.  A board of education is authorized to use electronic procurement practices in accordance with P.L.2018, c.156 (C.40A:11-4.7 et al.) for the advertisement of sale or lease of land and real property thereon, and shall also publish advertisement of the sale or lease in a newspaper published in the district, or, if none is published therein, then in a newspaper circulating in the district, in which the same is situate, at least once a week for two weeks prior to the sale, unless:\na.\tThe same are sold to the State, or a political subdivision thereof, in which case they may be sold at private sale without advertisement; or\nb.\tThe sale or other disposition thereof in some other manner is provided for in this Title.\namended 1986, c.183, s.2; 2018, c.156, s.8.","path":["TITLE 18A EDUCATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"0015f72cbc15928b6e105f7e6613bbfaf130bd4c54e45ee31e58fe2090579174","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-20-5","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-20-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
