The chief school administrator or lead person of a public school, including a charter school, shall designate a staff member to serve as a student placement liaison.\nb.\tIt shall be the responsibility of the student placement liaison to:\n(1)\tcoordinate with a new student’s school of last attendance and the parent or guardian of a new student to ensure the successful transition of the student;\n(2)\tcoordinate with an exiting student’s subsequent educational placement, including when placement occurs at an alternative education program, and the student’s parent or guardian to ensure the successful transition of the student; and\n(3)\tregularly track and maintain student enrollment data, including information on student transfers into or out of the public school, to ensure State school aid is provided in accordance with State law and regulation.\nL.2025, c.276, s.5.","path":["TITLE 18A EDUCATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"6642795f2a75412c1f5390f76b516ed685ddd870a1678bcb1dfeb8ef8c05da0a","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-36-19a","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-36-19.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
