The Commissioner of Education shall develop within 120 days of the effective date of this act, an educational fact sheet that provides information about sports-related eye injuries.  The educational fact sheet shall include, but need not be limited to:\n(1)\ta list of the most common sports-related eye injuries and the recognition of the symptoms of those injuries;\n(2)\ta recommendation that children seek treatment and advice from a licensed health care professional regarding the appropriate amount of time to delay the return to sports competition or practice after sustaining an eye injury;\n(3)\ta recommendation that all children participating in school sports or recreational sports wear protective eyewear;\n(4)\tinformation concerning the purchase of appropriate protective eyewear; and\n(5)\tany other information the commissioner deems appropriate.\nb.\tEach school district and nonpublic school shall distribute the educational fact sheet annually to the parents or guardians of the students.\nL.2013, c.183, s.2.","path":["TITLE 18A EDUCATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"4c7aced34fbcc88cff99f436f174fe9b9bba573e721f5058b2770ee7aa6c0793","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-40-41.8","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-40-41.10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
