Stat. § 18A:75A-2","heading":"Purpose.","body":"2.\tArticle I: Purpose\nIt is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to educational success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents by:\na.\tFacilitating the timely enrollment of children of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty in the transfer of education records from the previous school district or districts, or variations in entrance and age requirements.\nb.\tFacilitating the student placement process through which children of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling, sequencing, grading, course content or assessment.\nc.\tFacilitating the qualification and eligibility for enrollment, educational programs, and participation in extracurricular academic, athletic, and social activities.\nd.\tFacilitating the on-time graduation of children of military families.\ne.\tProviding for the promulgation and enforcement of administrative rules implementing the provisions of this compact.\nf.\tProviding for the uniform collection and sharing of information between and among member states, schools and military families under this compact.\ng.\tPromoting coordination between this compact and other compacts affecting military children.\nh.\tPromoting flexibility and cooperation between the educational system, parents and the student in order to achieve educational success for the student.\nL.2009, c.279, s.2.","path":["TITLE 18A EDUCATION"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"53ca6424fcba4051da4993e74620d868269129522daaabcd09d8ed1dacd9901c","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-75a-1","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-18a-75a-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
