Stat. § 21:2-3","heading":"\"Dangerous fireworks\" defined.","body":"\"Dangerous fireworks\" mean the following:\nToy torpedoes containing more than 5 grains of an explosive composition.\nPaper caps containing more than .35 grain of explosive composition.\nFirecrackers or salutes exceeding 5 inches in length or 3/4 inch in diameter.\nCannons, canes, pistols or other devices designed for use otherwise than with paper caps.\nAny fireworks containing a compound or mixture of yellow or white phosphorous or mercury.\nAny fireworks that contain a detonator or blasting cap.\nFireworks compositions that ignite spontaneously or undergo marked decomposition when subjected for 48 consecutive hours to a temperature of 167 degrees Fahrenheit.\nFireworks that can be exploded en masse by a blasting cap placed in one of the units or by impact of a rifle bullet or otherwise.\nFireworks, such as fusees, containing a match tip, or head, or similar igniting point or surface, unless each individual tip, head or igniting point or surface is thoroughly covered and securely protected from accidental contact or friction with any other surface.\nFireworks containing an ammonium salt and a chlorate.\namended 2017, c.92, s.2.","path":["TITLE 21 EXPLOSIVES AND FIREWORKS"],"source_url":"https://pub.njleg.state.nj.us/statutes/STATUTES-TEXT.zip","current_through":"P.L.2025, c.405, and J.R.22","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T17:54:13Z","sha256":"b036ccfd05c234966203cc6e85e16c31319991025ea4f3b5499b70fdfdd7a862","source_id":"us-nj","stale":true,"prev":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-21-2-2","next":"us-nj/n.j.-stat.-21-2-4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
